OBSERVING THE WEEK OF PRAYER FOR CHRISTIAN UNITY
In addition to praying together, Christians are encouraged to use the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity as the opportunity for evaluating their Ecumenical accountability. During this week, we are called to seriously examine the ecumenical dimension of all areas of Christian ministry and the reception of our respective churches to the ecumenical progress already made. The Week of Prayer is the call to the churches to renew their commitment to the Unity with which Christ gifted the Church and to the fulfillment of His prayer, "that all may be one":
Consider making the sacrifice of being present at all eight prayer celebrations each evening. Familiarize yourself with the Scriptural Theme: "My peace I give you …… not as the world gives. Let not your hearts be troubled……" (John 14:23-31.) Make an effort to meet the people from the other churches. Make a new friend--go to their social after the evening celebration!
May Jesus Bless you for your efforts in making His desire come true. "That all may be one!"
Yours in Christ,
Sr. Loretta Guevarra, S.A. Pastoral Associate
