Father Chris Tomatis Addresses Kiwanis
San Miguel, CA. Friday, March 16, 2001 – Father Christopher Tomatis
O.F.M. was delighted to
accept the invitation to speak at the Paso Robles, California Kiwanis Club
meeting Tuesday March 13, 2001. When
asked about the Mission’s growing relationship with the Kiwanis, Tomatis stated
“They’re a wonderful organization. – One that’s helped us so much in the
past. It’s important to continue this
commitment of cooperation with each other as we strive for our mutual goals of
serving the community, family, and heritage.”
Kiwanis vice president
Michael H. Collins said “Both the Mission and the Kiwanis serve the
community. By the pure nature of that,
it is important to work together.”
The Kiwanis for a number
of years have taken a special interest in helping the Mission. They feel that the Mission is not only a
“place”, but also a very important part of California’s history. States Collins: “Helping to preserve it is
an ongoing pursuit. The Mission is the
very core of why we are here. It’s a
significant part of this community’s life.”
Explains Collins, “We will
continue to work together. I see many
projects and joint events where both the Mission and the Kiwanis will continue
this growing reciprocal friendship and cooperation.”
