Mission Art Show a Success

Mission San  Miguel, San Miguel, CA. . – A warm, beautiful evening greeted art lovers who came out to see the creative offerings of local Mission San Miguel artists at the Mission courtyard on Friday, July 27th.  Everyone was struck by the seriousness and quality of art exhibited at this event.

Parishioner Anthony Quartuccio topically had mission scenes in original paintings, prints and limited editions; while horse aficionada Cricket Johnston showcased her equestrian paint and print studies.  Leonard Potter displayed his historical sculptures in various media.  Betty Arbogast showcased her religious embroidery: past, present and in-process.  Photojournalist Mary Kedizor showed how she visions her subjects through her presentation of photo-prints. San Miguel resident Ruth Elvin offered her paintings and sketches of flowers to the public; while fellow resident Michael Yost displayed his religious as well as more modern oil and watercolor paintings.

All of the above artists graciously donated a portion of their sales to the Parish Building Fund.

Following the art show at 8PM, the Mozart Festival concert “Mexican Roses” began its sellout performance in the Mission church.

For more information on these artists, please check the Mission’s web site at: www.missionsanmiguel.org.
