Father Larry Gosselin, ofm will be here to showcase his newest book titled "Unshadowed Light", a book of poems inspired by St. Clare of Assisi. For an entrance fee of just $5.00, tour the museum at night, browse in our gift shop and enjoy desserts and beverages while viewing Father Larry's beautiful book. St. Francis of Assisi and St. Clare of Assisi wines will be available for sale as well. By purchasing these two wonderful vintages brought to us by Locatelli Vineyards, a portion from the sales go to preserve this Historical Landmark.
BINGO - SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 14, 2015
Come us for a Special Bingo on November 14th at the Mission San Miguel Parish Hall located at 795 SLO Monterey Road in San Miguel (located directly behind the Mission). It is a beautiful facility with an enjoyable atmosphere, four 42" monitors and a large screen used for Bingo. Doors will open at 10:00 am with buy-in beginning at 11:30 am. Fun games will take place between 12:30 pm and 1:30 pm with regular Bingo beginning at 2:00 pm. You must buy in the regular games to be able to play the early fun games. There is a FREE half-time game and door prizes as well. Food and soft drinks are always available with complimentary coffee and cookies for all players. A Healing Retreat is for those suffering from the wounds of military PTSD and is led by a team of four: Father Mike Cicinato, Pete Pepper, Lon Stoetzer and Peter Sternberg. The retreat is based on the Soldier's Heart Retreats led by Dr. Edward Tick and Kate Dahlstedt, renowned experts on dealing with PTSD and its affects on veterans, active duty military and their families.
This will be a non-denominational journey of ritual based healing of the wounds of PTSD based on ancient wisdom and traditions and will be held on November 8 -12, 2015 at the St. Francis Retreat Center in San Juan Bautista, CA. The retreat has a maximum of 35 participants, one third of whom are civilians. It is a four day process to further a healthy and integrated arrival back home.
