Por favor reservar la fecha y darnos la información necesaria en la oficina. Instrucción para Papás y Padrinos el segundo Miércoles del mes a las 5:00 p.m. con la Hermana Loretta. Los bautizos son el cuarto sábado del mes a las 11:00 a.m.

Adult Baptisms

When adults want to become Catholics, we ask them to go through the R.C.I. A.  (Rite of Christian Initiation) program. Please call the Parish Office for more information.

Religious Instruction and Preparation for First Communion - English

This is a two year program. Classes are held Sunday mornings at 10:00 am in the Mission San Miguel Parish Office Meeting Room. See calendar of events for specific dates. Coordinator: Debbie Minton

This is a two year program. Classes are held Friday evenings from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm in the Mission San Miguel Parish Center. See calendar of events for specific dates. Coordinator: Lizette Mendoza

Teen Confirmation Classes 

This is a two year program. See calendar of events for specific dates. Coordinators: Robert and Susan Velasquez

Quinceañeras

Estamos dispuestos en dar una benedición especial como parte de cualquier misa parroquial. Para un misa especial la señorita necesita estar Bautizada, haber hecho su Primera Comunión, y estar en clase de Confirmación. Los arreglos se tienen que hacer en la Oficina Parroquial. La Hermana Loretta tiene la clase de 6 pláticas una vez al año. Favor de llamar a la Oficina Parroquial para más información.

Marriages

Please call the Parish Office at least six months in advance and make an appointment with the Pastor. To be married in the church, you will need to bring current baptism, first communion and confirmation certificates, two witnesses and must attend a marriage preparation program.

Matrimonio

Favor de llamar a la Oficina Parroquial y hacer un cita con el Padre seis meses antes de la fecha. Para casarse se necesita que obtenga las actas de bautismo, primera comunión, y confirmación. También necesitan traer dos testigos y atender un programa de preparación matrimonial.

The Sick

There are communion ministers, along with the Pastor,  who will bring communion to the sick. The Pastor will come to give the Anointing of the Sick to anyone who asks.

Liturgical Ministries

 

In connection with our celebration of the Masses, we have lectors who do the readings, communion ministers who help to give out communion, ushers who both welcome people and take care of the collections, altar servers who help the priest at the altar, sacristans who take care of the setting up before and after the mass and different cermonies and the choirs who lead the music. If you are interested in joining any of these ministries, please talk to any of the ministers after mass for more information.  

 

Parish Organizations and Groups

 

Busy Bees

A group who organize fundraising activities such as Bingo, Rummage Sales, Arts and Crafts Sales, Concert Hosting and Bake Sales for the Mission.

Cursillo Reunion Group

This group meets on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 pm in the Mission San Miguel Parish Guadalupe Room. All are welcome! For more information please call Bill Reisz at (805) 235-4526.

Landings

A small group whose purpose is to bring Catholics back to an active practice of their faith. For more information please call Jim Whitt at (805) 434-1746.

Marriage Encounter  - Spanish

To deepen marriage and family relationships. For more information please phone Gavino or Estefana Villa at (805) 712-1759.

Mission 4 Life

This group is active in pro-life activities, especially those against abortion. Under the leadership of Teresa Marsano and Jeannette Silacci. 

Wednesday Scripture / Faith Sharing

This group meets Wednesday mornings in the Mission San Miguel Parish Guadalupe Room following the 8:00 am Mass to study and discuss the scripture that was heard the preceding Sunday. They share their own stories of faith and pray together. All are welcome. For more information please call Linda Reisz at (805) 674-7416.

Secular Franciscans (Third Order)

This is a group who have committed themselves to live a life inspired by the example and spirit of St. Francis of Assisi. For more information please call Linda Fairbanks at (805) 237-8476. 

Youth Group

This lively group meets every Tuesday night at 7:00 pm in the Mission San Miguel Parish Center. For more information please call Maria Barajas at (805) 423-5557.

 

Leadership Groups 

 

Finance Council

This is a group of six appointed advisory committee members who advice our pastor in making financial decisions. 

Pastoral Council

This is a group of representatives from the different parish ministries which together with the pastor make decisions about all the pastoral activities of the parish.

Special Committees

Certain committees can be formed, such as the festival committee, to assist in fundraising and fellowship activities.
