Posted on Aug 11, 2005

A group of community boosters headed by Don LaVallee and Dale Schwartz, is organizing the second annual “Friends of the Mission Golf Tournament”. Last year’s tournament raised over $32,000.00 for the Mission San Miguel Preservation Fund. This year they hope to do even better! The Tournament is being held at the beautiful Paso Robles Golf Club on Labor Day weekend: Saturday, September 3rd 2005. The Tournament will be a 4-person team scramble format with a 9:30 A.M. Shotgun Start. The Barbecue and Raffle will begin after the golf tournament at approximately 2 P.M.

Golf enthusiasts take heed! –This is going to be a fun and lively event with all sorts of awards and prizes. From hole-in-one prizes of a new car and new tractor, team awards, longest drive and much more –there’s something for every kind of golfer! And for the non-golfers, join us for the Santa Maria Style Barbecue, Silent Auction, and Raffle - including a fabulous week in Kauai in a two bedroom waterfront condo, Four days at Cabo San Lucas at an Oceanside condo, a weekend at the fabulous Villa Tuscano, a week in Cayucos at a beach front condo --- to name just a few items.

Tournament entry fee is $125 per player, with a limit of 144 entries. The entry fee includes green fees, cart, refreshments, and Santa Maria Style Barbecue hosted by David and Mary Weyrich. Guests are welcome. Barbecue & Raffle-only tickets are $25 per person.

Mission San Miguel, with its 208 year rich history, is the North County’s oldest historic landmark, and it’s important that we preserve it for future generations. Please join us in that effort!
