SPANISH DAYS AT THE OLD ADOBE

Posted on Sep 25, 2005

Sunday, October 2, 2005 will bring an exciting event to the Rios-Caledonia Adobe in San Miguel. "SPANISH DAYS AT THE OLD ADOBE", from 11 AM to 4 PM, will feature many colorful and interesting events, including: Lively Spanish dancers and musicians from the days of Early California, native singers from the local Salinan tribe, performances by members of the New World Baroque Orchestra and soloists, and the Mission San Miguel Singers, under the leadership of John Warren. There will be re-enactment characters from California's past, crafts of the Period (1850's) and demonstrations on making adobe bricks. Spanish food by the San Miguel Mission's auxiliary will be sold, with monies earned by sale of the food to go to the Mission's Restoration Fund. Event will be free to the public, with donations encouraged.

Saturday, October 29, 2005 will again feature an event at the Rios-Caledonia Adobe to fascinate those interested in GHOSTS of the adobe and those of the Mission San Miguel and environs. The event will be a "CANDLE LIGHT TOUR OF THE RIOS-CALEDONIA ADOBE" and will be narrated by Wally Ohles, our local history authority and author of "Lands of Mission San Miguel". This walk-through will take place from 7 PM until 9 PM; free to the public, also with donations encouraged.
